Uric
acid:
Uric
acid is one of the components of the human body. It is a heterocyclic compound.
These compounds are made up of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen and help
us to digest food. Purine is broken down into uric acid. Purines are made in
our body and come from purine-rich foods. However, as good as uric acid is for
the body, it also has a bad effect on the body. So it is important to control
the amount of uric acid in the body. The reasons for the increase in uric acid
are excess weight, excessive alcohol consumption, eating purine-rich foods,
hypothyroidism, certain diuretics. Excess protein is also responsible for
increasing uric acid levels. An increase in uric acid in the blood is called
hyperuricemia. About two-thirds of uric acid is made naturally in our body, the
rest comes from our food, especially purine-rich foods. This is because uric
acid is formed by breaking down purines. Our body naturally has a certain amount
of uric acid. But the problem is when the kidneys cannot get the excess uric
acid out of the body or the body starts making extra uric acid. This excess
uric acid then accumulates in the form of crystals in various joints of the
body. As a result, the affected person experiences moderate to severe pain,
swelling, redness, and pain in various joints of the body. Many people have
increased uric acid, but the intensity of the pain does not decrease even after
taking the medicine. This is because a proper diet is not taken along with
medicine to reduce uric acid. Foods that are high in uric acid should be
eliminated from the diet, and foods that help to reduce uric acid should be
included in the diet as well as weight control. Foods that need to be
eliminated from the diet to reduce uric acid and foods that need to be included
in the diet are discussed below.
Foods that need to be
excluded from the diet:
Red
meat:
Beef,
mutton, buffalo meat. Red meat is one of the foods that increase uric acid. In
addition, non-red meat, such as chicken meat is high in uric acid, but slightly
lower than red meat. So those who have high uric acid should avoid red meat and
take non-red meat in moderation.
Organ
Meat:
Brain,
liver, tongue, kidneys. Organ meat contains high levels of uric acid like red and non-red meat.
So no matter how much you like these, eliminate these foods from your diet to
keep your body's uric acid levels right.
Bird
meat:
Meat
of ducks, pigeons, quails, or any other bird. If you want to reduce uric acid,
you need to eliminate these high purine-rich foods from the diet.
Vegetables:
Vegetables
like lady's finger, arum-lobe, the bulbous root of the arum, Pui Shak, etc. are good
for health but these vegetables should be excluded to keep the uric acid level
right. Also, cauliflower, mushrooms, spinach, beans, peas, the eggplant should be
excluded from the diet or taken in very limited amounts, until uric acid levels
return to normal.
Foods
made with yeast and yeast supplements:
Yeast
is used to make foods such as bread, naan, beer, etc. If uric acid is to be
controlled, it must be removed from the diet.
Pulses:
All
types of pulses and food made from pulses like piaju, beguni, fuchka, chatpati,
khichuri - these foods are delicious but if you want to reduce uric acid, you
have to control these foods.
Food
that contains beech:
Exclude
bean seeds, jackfruit seeds, different types of nuts if you want to keep uric
acid levels normal.
Sea
fish, shrimp, crab, fish eggs:
Any
type of fish, be it sea fish or freshwater fish - it contains a lot of purine.
So these sea fish, snails, oysters, shrimp, crabs, fish eggs - these foods
should be excluded in uric acid control.
Sugary
foods and Beverages:
Excessive
sweet foods such as cakes, sweets, fruit juices, Pepsi, Coke, etc. are likely
to increase uric acid. As a result, leave out such foods.
High
fructose or excessive sweet fruits and foods:
Fruits
or foods that are high in fructose make a barrier to reduce uric acid levels. Therefore,
fruits such as dates, apricots, pomegranate, jackfruits, grapes, pears, peaches,
mangoes, palms, cherries, kiwi fruits, plums as well as honey, molasses and
molasses should be excluded from the diet.

Various studies have shown that taking 500 mg of vitamin C daily reduces uric acid levels in a very short time. Vitamin C excretes excess uric acid through the urine. So, regularly eat lemon, carambola, mango, hog plum, guava, orange, etc. food to reduce uric acid.
Pineapple:
Pineapple
is a very effective fruit in reducing uric acid. 100% of the amount of vitamin
C that the human body needs every day will be met by eating 1 cup of pineapple.
Pineapple contains much less fructose than other fruits. So there is no need to
worry. Pineapple also contains an enzyme called bromelain which helps to reduce
inflammation. So, those who want to reduce uric acid should eat at least some
pineapple every day.
Olive
oil:
Use
moderate amounts of oil in your cooking. And use olive oil in cooking. The
anti-oxidants in olive oil contain anti-inflammatory ingredients. Which helps to reduce joint inflammation caused by excess uric acid.
Apple:
The malic acid in apples helps to neutralize uric acid. However, since the amount
of fructose in apples is a very large amount, put a small size apple in your food
list after the everyday meal.
Low
fat milk, sour yogurt, and eggs:
Choose low-fat milk, low-fat yogurt, and eggs without yolks to reduce hyperuricemia as well as meet protein needs.
